Xiaochun Cheng won full scholarship for all his university education, received the BEng Degree in Computer Engineering with first class degree, PhD in Computer Science with distinction. One project was funded with 16 Million Euro budget. He contributed for five times best conference paper awards so far. 6 his papers were in the top 1% of the academic field by Data from Essential Science Indicators. He won 3 times national competitions. He won national award for research. Two solutions were adopted nationally. He serves 7 IEEE Technical Committees and 3 BCS Specialist Groups. He has been a Senior Member of IEEE. He currently works at Swansea University, UK.

Prof. Patrick Siarry was born on May 28, 1952, in Pertuis. His research area is relatively (since 1982) new “metaheuristic” optimization such as simulated annealing, which are indicated for the so-called problems of “hard optimization” because of their ability to avoid in principle, trapping in sub-optimal solutions. This topic is multidisciplinary in nature, both by the source of the methods studied (physics, biology, ethology). Much of his work is explicitly one or the other keywords – in particular, modeling, identification, learning rule bases (artificial intelligence), control, nondestructive testing and maintaining the biological and medical engineering.

Grigorios Beligiannis was born in Athens, Greece, in 1974. He graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics of the University of Patras in 1997. He finished his postgraduate studies in “Computer & Information Technology” in 2000 and his doctoral dissertation in 2002 at the same time Department. In 2007 he was elected to the lecturer's degree with knowledge area “Management Information Systems”. In 2011 he has evolved at the rank of Assistant Professor, in 2016 at the rank of Associate Professor and in 2020 at the rank of Professor with subject “Intelligent Information Systems”. He has 62 published research papers in international scientific journals, 50 published papers in scientific conferences and 4 chapters in edited book series. He is Associate Editor of International Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Member of the Editorial Board of Applied Soft Computing, Helyion, Journal of Intelligent Communication, Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research, Journal of Advances in Artificial Intelligence and International Journal of Cyber Forensics and Advanced Threat Investigations. He has been a member of the Technical Committee at more than 220 international scientific conferences. His research interests focus on Intelligent Algorithms of Decision Theory, on Intelligent Algorithm Applications to System Identification, Parameter Estimation and Operations Research problems and on Business Intelligence Systems.He has over 21 years of experience in teaching in Greek universities in undergraduate and post graduate courses. He has over 26 years of experience in participating in research projects.He has been Chairman of the Department of Business Administration of Food & Agricultural Enterprises, University of Patras,from September 2016 till August 2020. Since September 2022 he is the Chairman of The Department of Food Science & Technology, University of Patras.
